Great post!! You've provided really interesting arguments. After what I read about the US and Trump, his way of "doing business", it certainly seems that his way of running the country and its economy is not rational (I am just being polite). What do you think what will happen in 10 years between the US and China?

The arrest of the CFO of Huawei right after Trump is lauding a deal on trade has many hints of a deep state attack on reconciliation between China and the United States. This seems crazy to me, as crazy as the alternative explanation that the US has simply decided to act like China has historically, bullying companies by arresting their executives. Since part of the trade team claimed awareness of the arrest, sheer incompetence is unlikely. To your question I think it is increasingly likely the Americans want to create a completely separate tech supply chain where none of their technology leaks over into the Chinese side of the fence. Peaceful, but confrontational.

Oh wow, I really liked your ideas and comparisons!! However, I do believe that people should do what makes them happy. After all these years I thought I am "finance person", I understood that this is not making me happy. I found one thing that is bringing me real joy and now my life has changed after I decided to follow that dream that one day will definitely makes me the happiest person on earth! :) But your are right - buying house because mama or friends said so - bullshit! :D

The game is rigged, and we have to remember that too, unfortunately it's too easy to forget. Can't speak for the parents though, don't have children, yet. But I believe that you'd be fine cradling your child at 5am if you don't have to get up early to go to work, right? So I guess the issue is not about a child but about being ready for it.

Wow, the american politics is intense. We don't have that kind of stuff here in Russia, we just facepalm over and over about how we're robbed and how our money is spent ridiculously to buy someone a new yacht. But we definitely need more politics discussion here on the platform. Exciting stuff, thanks for this post, it made some things clearer for me.

Great article. To tell you the truth...I'm basing part of my decision about if I should return to the states or not ... around the results of the next election. And who is nominated.
