Pullahar Monastery is one of the great Buddhist monastery in Nepal. It is located north of the Budhanath Stupa (listed by UNESCO on World Heritage Site List) on a hill above Kathmandu. Its serene location is ideal for meditation and the study of Buddhism. The complex has a large magnificent park with statues, stupas and small scenes depicting the life story of the Lord Buddha. Pullahari Monastery offers retreats and teachings, you can study and practice meditation. When there are no other events, you can attend Dharma monastic daily conversations in English. This talk is about various teachings and concepts of Buddhism.
Near to this monastery is Kopan Monastery. You can take a walk between Kopan and Pullahari Monastery. There is a cafe with a terrace. From there, an incredibly beautiful view of the city opens. The monastery offers simple guest houses. If you want to stay there, you must abide by the rules of the monastery.
